Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) work as part of a team to provide skilled therapy services under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist.
PTAs follow the patient plan of care by implementing and delivering interventions / treatment, obtaining data related to the treatment provided, and making modifications in selected interventions to progress or ensure comfort patient comfort / safety;
report changes in patient status; confer with the supervising therapist; and make recommendations for alteration of the care plan.
PTAs act in a manner consistent with the State’s professional practice act for physical therapy as well as the organization’s policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS : Education
Associate degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program
Experience
One year of clinical experience in both acute care and ambulatory settings preferred
Licensure / Credentials
- Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Washington
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
