The Junior System Administrator (JrSysAdmin) plays a crucial role within the Sport Clips IT Department in ensuring the smooth operation of Sport Clips' computer, application, and network systems.
As a Level 2 escalation point for the Sport Clips Service Desk, the JrSysAdmin is responsible for quickly addressing and resolving complex technical issues to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.
Their expertise helps maintain the reliability and performance of Sport Clips' IT infrastructure, resulting in an improved experience for both internal users and clients.
Scope : The Junior System Administrator is responsible for a wide range of tasks and will report directly to the Senior Network Administrator.
These tasks include maintaining systems, managing security, overseeing backup and recovery processes, optimizing performance, ensuring observability, documenting procedures, planning capacity, automating tasks, managing networks, providing support and education to end-users, monitoring systems, managing patches, and responding to incidents.
The goal is to ensure that Sport Clips systems are accessible, functional, and secure through efficient management. Key Criteria / Requirements :
- At least one year of experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- At least one year of experience supporting and troubleshooting network concepts, including IP Stack, subnetting, VLANs, SD-WAN, and the 7-layer OSI Model.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services, DHCP, Distributed File System (DFS), and printing services.
- 1+ year of experience with Azure and / or cloud platforms is preferred but not required.
- Basic familiarity with Linux or Unix systems.
- Awareness of patching strategies is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, Python, and Puppet is advantageous.
- Understanding logging infrastructure or Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) is beneficial.
- Awareness of authentication services and Single Sign-On (SSO), SAML, and / or OAuth services is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of SAN, NAS, and storage platforms and formats. Virtualization administration experience is a plus.
- Awareness of least privilege access principles.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and departments, and the ability to communicate goals and achievements to management and vendors.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
