Overview
University of Louisville Medical Center PACS Administrator is responsible for managing the operations, system maintenance and quality control activities of the medical imaging and cardiology Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) as well as the supporting applications such as Powerscribe 360, Powershare, TeraRecon, Magview, etc.

Responsibilities

- Collaborates with all departments to assist with patient flow and process improvement. Participates with the development of operating standards, protocols, and administrative policies and procedures in accordance with compliance and governing bodies.
- Works closely with vendors, corporate management, and medical imaging to oversee and coordinate strategic planning for medical imaging initiatives.
- Acts as liaison between clinical departments, biomed, and other internal departments, vendors, and outside agencies to ensure the delivery of timely and efficient services and problem resolution.
- Serves as a resource for the PACS applications and acts as a consultant for advanced troubleshooting needs.
- Responsible for recommending and presenting budget requests for medical equipment and applications.
- Provides leadership to achieve optimal operational, financial, and satisfaction outcomes.
- Supports change and is responsible for the development, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of the goals / objectives and process improvement activities during project implementation.
Qualifications
Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred) :
- Required : Two to five years of PACS / RIS or other imaging and integration support experience.
- Required : Bachelor’s degree in related healthcare discipline or information systems discipline.
- Preferred : Radiology and / or Cardiology Experience
Experience (required and preferred) :
- Required : Professionally appropriate verbal and written presentation skills.
- Required : Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Required : Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
- Required : Ability to work on tight deadlines.
