Infrastructure Maintenance Technician

Job Overview : As an Infrastructure Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and longevity of our organization's infrastructure.

You will be responsible for performing regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various components of our infrastructure, including but not limited to equipment, utilities, and systems.

Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency, safety, and reliability of our infrastructure, supporting uninterrupted operations across our facility.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct routine inspections of mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, pneumatic diagnostic tools, and other infrastructure components to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address any reported problems or emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or system failures, implementing appropriate solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with external contractors or vendors for specialized maintenance or repair tasks as needed.
  • Support teams with incoming equipment installation and qualification.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, materials used, and any relevant documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and supplies, and initiate procurement processes as necessary to replenish stock.
  • Implement safety protocols and adhere to regulatory standards to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to infrastructure maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other departments or teams to support organizational initiatives and projects that require infrastructure expertise.

Qualifications :

  • A / AS degree in an electrical or mechanical field.
  • 10 years of experience in infrastructure maintenance in an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, utilities, and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Experience with all types of hand tools and power tools, drills, saws, roto hammers, etc.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools, equipment, and techniques used for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure requirements including but not limited to gas lines, exhaust, electrical and other infrastructure requirements.
  • Hazardous materials and waste handling & storage knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in using computers & software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Working Conditions :

  • This position typically involves working indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various environmental conditions.
  • May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially in response to emergencies or maintenance needs.
  • Physical requirements include lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to communicate in real-time with co-workers, and external contacts.
  • Ability to navigate a lab environment, including manipulating and moving materials, lab equipment, and tool carts, while demonstrating good safety practices and common sense.
  • Ability to do repetitive work for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements and readings while utilizing microscopes, and other tools.

Location :

Sakuú’s culture is best experienced in person, and selected candidates will be expected to work onsite in our South San Jose location.

Remote work schedules are not available.

The estimated compensation range for a new hire in this position is $30 to $35 / hour. Actual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.

In addition to a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, Sakuú offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
