The Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing (GSN) invites applications for afull time (tenured or tenure-track) nursing faculty position.
Rank, tenure, and salary are commensurate with professional background andexperience. The individual selected for this position will serve primarily in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing Science Program,conduct research and provide support for Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) educational programs.
Duties : Incumbent will serves as anAssistant, Associate or Full Professor in the GSN, PhD in Nursing Science Program, and as such, is responsible for teaching, research,administrative assignments and service to the School, the University and their professional discipline.
Conduct independent andcollaborative research in areas consistent with the mission of the GSN. Actively seek external funding to support their research as aPI / CoPI.
Disseminates their findings through peer reviewed, research-based publications. Serve as a committee member on dissertation andscholarly projects advising students and assisting in the evaluation of their progress.
Oversee student research and thedevelopment of scholarly projects. Guide students in the evaluation of data, drawing conclusions based on findings, and the publication ofdata-based results.
Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Research and Associate Dean for Faculty Development (as appropriate) to reviewand critique junior faculty research and scholarship.
Serve as Committee Chair, or an expert resource / member, for dissertationcommittees.
Publish and / or serve as an editor or peer reviewer for manuscripts, texts, monographs and other materials. Routinelypursue scholarly activities that contribute to and expand the science of nursing.
In coordination with other faculty members of theSchool, assist in the planning and development of curriculum in areas of expertise.
Participate in the development and organization ofspecific courses of study. Participate in teaching graduate students to prepare them for advanced clinical, scientific and functional roles.
Prepare materials for presentation, provide daily student supervision, and review student performance. Provide significant and experiencedinput into the multiple aspects of graduate nursing educational programs, including leadership in instructional and curricular activities.
Present lectures in areas of expertise and interest.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, professional, ethical and accreditationstandards and participate in GSN processes to evaluate and improve academic policies, procedures and activities.
Serve as amember and / or chair major standing committees in the GSN and on the university level and contribute administratively as required.
Representthe University at professional gatherings, deliver lectures, and participate in meetings and panel discussions at the local, regional,national and international level.
Maintain professional contacts, local and national, with other nursing schools and professionalorganizations throughout the country.
Actively seek leadership roles in professional organizations as an officer, chair, and director of anassociation, agency, organization task force and / or review group at a national or international level.
Qualifications : The incumbentmust bring to this position an earned research doctorate in nursing or a related health specialty field, and hold a current nursinglicense.
Position requires : teaching experience in graduate level nursing programs with demonstrated effective leadership andscholarly achievement including a history of publications;
set standards of excellence and leadership in professional service; stronginterpersonal skills and commitment to graduate education and continued professional development of self and others.
The successfulcandidate must be academically qualified for a faculty appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level.

- The following experience / knowledge is highly desirable : a background in the military and / or federal health caresystems;
- an established program of research with extramural funding in an area relevant to USU / GSN’s mission and post-doctoralfellowship experience;
a background in the military and / or federal health care systems.

Relocation expense i.e. PCS or relocation incentives asdesired on 5 USC 5733 may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations, command policy and available commandfunding.
This position is in the tenure eligible track.
