POSITION TITLE : Theatre Technical Director
COMPENSATION RANGE : 51,455.00 - 55,610.00 USD per year
EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION : Professional Administrative
POSITION SUMMARY : Provide scenic technical support to the School of Theatre Arts and Dance. Oversees the budgeting, manufacturing, installation, and personnel health and safety associated with all aspects of production for the School of Theatre and Dance, including the Little Theatre of the Rockies summer season.
JOB DUTIES :
- Technical Direction : Budgeting, scheduling, construction, and installation of all scenic elements : 75%
- Safety oversight for all technical areas : 15%
- Supervision of student technical directors : 10%
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s Degree : Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre : Preferred
- Master of Fine Arts in Technical Direction or Scene Design : Preferred
- A minimum of two years' experience in scenery construction, rigging systems, theatre project management, and budgeting in a collegiate or professional environment.
- Experience in using standard and specialized scenic carpentry tools including but not limited to CNC Router, CutAwl, Pneumatic tools, Genie lift, etc.
- Experience welding scenic structures.
- Experience with scenic automation.
- This person will be expected to gain and maintain Advanced CPR (especially Stop the Bleed) certification once in this position.
Additionally, Fall Arrest training through the University will be required. This person will be expected to gain OSHA rigging certification once in this position.

5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges.
