Position Summary

The Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies at the University of Alabama invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology.

This is a nine-month, non-tenure-earning position with a contract of three years, eligible for renewal.

Detailed Position Information

The Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies at the University of Alabama invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology.

The Department focuses on the training of educational leaders in different fields and houses programs in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Instructional Technology, and Social and Cultural Foundations.

The Instructional Technology program offers a master's degree, an on-campus Ph.D., an online PhD, a graduate certificate program, and undergraduate service technology courses.

A successful candidate will join five active research and teaching faculty, as well as a vibrant student community in the Instructional Technology program.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Develop and teach graduate courses in Instructional Technology (MA, PhD, Certificate) and the Nurse Educator program
  • Develop and teach undergraduate service courses in Instructional Technology
  • Fulfill service roles in the program, department, and college.
  • Provide academic advisement for master's and doctoral level students
  • Serve on Instructional Technology dissertation committees

The position start date is August 16, 2025

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned Doctorate in Instructional Technology or related field.
  • Ability to teach graduate courses in the Instructional Technology program.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Evidence of service within university settings and relevant professional organizations.
  • Experience advising and mentoring graduate students.
  • Ability to support program administration and coordination.
