o What does your group do? We do very early stage R&D, Our project is highly proprietary in nature. We work on cardiovascular implants and delivery systems

o Does your team use any specific technology / software you want us to look out for? Solidworks is a must

o Do you foresee this role being needed again? Potentially

o What will a typical workday look like? Brainstorming, designing catheter delivery systems, documenting, hands-on prototyping, animal studies, testing

o What will the work schedule be? Can any overtime be expected? 8-5 typical workday, overtime maybe

o Will there be any travel involved? no

o Will you consider remote work? If yes, will they need to be in a specific time zone? Partial remote work possible

o What are your top 3 required technical skills? Must haves? Designing with CAD, hands-on prototyping, testing development and reporting

o What are nice to have skills? Technical leadership, help drive decision making and technical direction

Summary :

• The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production.
• A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.

Job Responsibilities :

• Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
• Review worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
• Review and approve work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
• Review charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
• Evaluate data and reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
• Recommend revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.

Education and Experience :

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 8+ years’ experience required.
