Job Summary
Quality RN Coordinator who will coordinate, implement and participate in the evaluation of the ongoing, functionally integrated, and systemic hospital-wide performance improvement activities.
Coordinates with Leadership on quality and regulatory initiatives including but not limited to : process improvement, publicly reported metrics, nursing sensitive indicators, investigating events, RCA, accrediting and tracer activities.
Required
Qualifications :
- Graduate from an accredited school or university
- Minimum of 5 years-experience as a registered nurse in the adult population
- History of quality improvement, quality management, or standards
- Strong Microsoft Office skills necessary : Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Three to six months training
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- CPHQ / CPPS
- Skill in Team Facilitation, RCA and FMEA
- Comfortable with EPIC
Certifications And Licenses Required
- Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Essential Functions
Assists physicians, managers and staff to develop and update departmental performance improvement plans based on the established organizational performance indicators and strategic intents.
Collaborates with individuals and groups within the hospital to establish priorities for measurement and to determine appropriate indicators of quality.
Ensures that reports from departments and PI teams to the designated council and to the hospital-wide PIC Committee are complete and timely.
Facilitates the use of PI tools when developing reports, which may include : data displays, analysis, follow-up plans, and outcome analysis.
Other duties as assigned by the director. Oversees designated projects involving the use of external referenced databases;
assists individuals and departments with analysis of results, develop action plans, and track improvement.
Participates in peer level meetings or work team activities and communicates results or actions to departmental staff. Performs chart audits to gather data for public reporting initiatives, as assigned by Director.
Provides direct support to the Leadership Council for all administrative activities associated with the meetings. Provides ongoing updates on the progress of assigned projects.
Provides Team Leader and Team Member Training as delegated. Serves as a mentor and facilitator by teaching the principles and applications of performance improvement to all levels of staff and manager.
Serves as a role model in resolving interpersonal conflicts, demonstrates effective communication skills. Works closely with the Director to insure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as reporting requirements.
