Labor And Employment Attorney
Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Legal Talent group has an immediate need for a Labor & Employment Attorney.
Overview : Licensed attorney with expertise in L&E and experience thriving in a demanding legal department.
Company : Our client is a growth E&P company based in Houston, TX.
Experience : L&E & International Experience preferably in the O&G industry.
Responsibilities Include :
- Broad labor and employment expertise to handle traditional and complex L&E matters
- Awareness of new / pending federal and state legislation, rules and regulations and industry developments
- Providing practical legal advice and support business matters in a fast-paced environment
- Working with and advising business clients directly, as well as providing guidance and practical solutions for various corporate policies and procedures
- Oversee, assist, and provide advice and counsel on investigations relating to Human Resources, Compliance and / or Risk Management
Position Requirements :
- Juris Doctorate Degree; preferably from an ABA accredited law school
- License to practice law, in good standing, any state
- 7+ years legal experience, with labor and employment law
- International Experience is ideal
- Previous experience supporting an O&G company is ideal
- Ability to work independently
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and weigh facts and information from many sources, draw conclusions and make recommendations to GC
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, both internally and externally
- Ability to assess business risk in varying situations and make associated recommendations to minimize overall risk to the company
- Strong written and oral communication skills as required to interface with customers and subcontractors
- Ability to work on / manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work with frequent interruptions and meet established deadlines
