The Operational Risk Manager will be responsible for leading a team of employees focused on Process, Risk, Control (PRC) Documentation, Independent Testing, Issue Resolution / Due Diligence and Quality Service Level Audits within Risk Management Operations.

The Operational Risk Manager partners with leadership within various areas of our organization to report, assess and monitor risks.

This leader will be responsible for the evaluation of policies, processes, and procedures that pose the greatest risks for the organization.

This position is critical to providing strategic risk management and compliance guidance on all products and services offered to our clients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

Key Responsibility #1 : Leadership Oversight

  • Provide supervision and leadership oversight to the assigned disciplines to ensure all job functions and responsibilities are performed effectively and within standards.
  • Oversee and manage recruitment, training, development, and succession planning for assigned disciplines in line with Allied's best practices.
  • Effectively plan, schedule, and distribute work within the assigned disciplines to appropriately balance the workload.
  • Give coaching and development feedback and guidance to direct reports on how to improve performance in their assigned duties and responsibilities in order to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Provide training as needed to further handle the work assigned to ensure all work is being processed timely and accurately.
  • Evaluate and manage the performance of direct reports; execute dialogues, development plans, feedback, and follow-ups, and take actions to improve performance to support the business needs.
  • Ensure regular and clear communication to assigned disciplines on business performance, company culture & values, and organizational goals through routine roundtables and team meetings.
  • Responsible for articulating a vision that unites team members, communicating culture, modeling core values, fostering a harmonious, inclusive work environment, and inspiring and motivating their teams to consistently produce exceptional quality work.
  • Responsible for setting the tone from the top, giving overall strategic direction and vision in relation to risk and compliance.
  • Lead day-to-day activities of all risk management programs, including compliance, and works collaboratively with senior leadership and staff to evolve risk culture with a proactive business model.

Key Responsibility #2 : Risk Assessment & Oversight

  • Participate in emerging risk identification, research, assessment, periodic scenario analysis / risk modeling, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Lead risk identification, assessment, measurement, mitigation / control implementation and monitoring / reporting through internal quarterly Quality Management summaries and external reporting.
  • Review and research corrective actions as needed with staff, and follow through on reporting, escalation, and assist with their resolution.
  • Assist with the development of risk assessments, monitoring quality summaries and the development and enhancement of the methodologies and standards for auditing / testing, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with leadership organizationally to proactively identify existing high-risk defects or quality events and ensure that such quality events are fully assessed for root cause, containment, correction, and prevention of reoccurrence.

Key Responsibility #3 : Integrated Risk Management Policies & Procedures

  • Leads the implementation and use of an integrated risk management (IRM) system that meets the company’s risk management goals and objectives.
  • Oversee product development and buildout of the IRM system.
  • Provide training and resource tools to end users.
  • Troubleshoot user errors and escalate technical deficiencies.
  • Lead and / or assist assigned disciplines with the change management review of policies and procedures based on emerging risks, regulatory compliance oversight and business objectives.
  • Ownership and accountability of industry, compliance and risk management standards and best practices for their assigned disciplines.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA) :

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5-7 years of work-related experience required.
  • 3-4 years of leadership experienced required.
  • Ability to lead a team of risk & compliance professionals with risk assessment as a subject matter expertise.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of operational risk management concepts
  • Experience in assessing risk and translating findings into actionable plans.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Smartsheet
  • Ability to write professional and concise risk management summaries including proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Professional Risk Manager (PRM), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) or Risk Management Professional (RMP) certification preferred.
  • Integrated Risk Management System / Software / Solution experience preferred
