We are seeking for a Financial System Analyst for a long term contract role in Austin, TX.
It is a hybrid role with 2 days onsite is required.
General Description : The Financial Systems Implementation Specialist is responsible for contributing to a project aimed at implementing a statewide financial system to meet the accounting and finance needs of the organization.
This role involves designing, documenting, and advising on financial functions within the system to ensure alignment with business processes.
The Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze processes, identify improvements, support report development, and ensure smooth implementation.
Functional Responsibilities :
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for collaborative business process development.
- Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements for efficient system utilization.
- Identify data requirements and support report development for various financial reporting needs.
- Attend internal and external meetings related to system implementation.
- Document and report implementation activities to management.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design proposed solutions.
- Assist in translating business requirements into proposed solutions.
- Work with teams to configure various system modules.
- Populate test regions with financial balances and monitor testing.
- Propose and develop solutions adhering to enterprise architecture and security principles.
- Follow organizational procedures, change control, and project processes.
- Produce detailed systems documentation and support materials.
- Conduct training sessions for staff.
- Complete information security training as required.
Skills and Qualifications : Minimum Required :
- 6 years of system or data analysis experience, including reverse engineering business processes.
- 6 years of experience in identifying alternative solutions and analyzing feasibility for process improvements.
- 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with system support involvement.
- 4 years of experience in ERP or Peoplesoft financial system implementations.
Preferred :
- 3 years of experience in relevant governmental projects.
- Ability to define tasks and deliverables for overall solutions delivery.
- Demonstrated integrity, ability to work with ambiguity, and confidence in responsibilities.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
