Job Overview

Midwest Mole is searching for a skilled and detail-oriented Heavy Civil Estimator to join our growing team. In this critical role, you'll leverage your expertise to estimate costs for excavating, utilities, storm drainage, and heavy civil projects , ensuring precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including earthworks, storm drainage, utilities, and site preparation.
  • Utilize estimating software such as Heavy Bid, Agtek, Earthworks, or similar take-off tools.
  • Conduct detailed project analysis, including site visits, to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, project managers, and internal teams throughout the bid process.
  • Organize and manage all bid documentation, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Assist with the preparation of project schedules and budgets to support competitive bidding.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address inquiries and updates during the estimating phase.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Excellent computer skills and extensive knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Project
  • Effective analytical, communicating, writing and organizational skills.
  • Be a proactive, organized, self-starter and be able to manage workload and priorities
  • Valid Driver's License, medical card, acceptable driving record to drive company vehicles.
