Job Description and Duties

Facilitates communication between students in the Transition Partnership Program (TPP) and others by interpreting and transliteration services;

interprets for teachers, administrators, parents, students and others as needed; performs other job-related duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Possession of at least one valid certificate issued by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Equivalent to six months' experience providing interpreting services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Good command of written English
  • Strong cultural perspective of the Deaf people

Special Requirements

The position(s) require(s) fluency in the American Sign Language language. If the State of California does not have a current record documenting your fluency in this language, you will be required to successfully pass an approved language fluency test prior to being hired.
