FACILITIES TRADES TECHNICIANS - HVAC$19.58 / HROcala, FL8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon-FriTemp-to-hire Responsible for performing various duties that require very frequent physical labor ranging from unskilled to highly skilled repairs, maintenance, and remodeling for county buildings and facilities.Specialties include :
- HVAC ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides excellent customer service to members of the general public and other County employees. Personal contact occurs with other employees of the unit, employees of other departments in the County, citizens, and customers of the department.
Service is provided in person or by phone contact.
Performs duties in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of heating and air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, compressors, electrical circuits and controls, changing filters, checking Freon levels, cleaning and replacing motors and changing thermostats.
Repairs ice machines and water coolers. Operates power tools, silver solder and acetylene welders.
- Obtains oral and written quotes in the procurement process of parts, materials, and equipment according to County policies.
- Manages information through mobile and desktop interfaces including email, spreadsheet use, task tracking programs, and timekeeping software. .
- May work in buildings that provide healthcare.
- May work in secure areas of Jail within the Jail population.
- May supervise Jail inmates and trustees per Sheriff’s Department guidelines.
- Implements the organization’s guiding principles and core values.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned. Installing HVAC components in residential and commercial buildingsMaintenance : Performing regular maintenance to keep systems running efficiently, including cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systemsRepair : Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults, and performing emergency repairs Compliance : Ensuring compliance with appliance standards, OSHA regulations, service standards, and work instructions PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe work is heavy work which requires exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED1 year of previous experience requiredMust pass Tech Competency Test I
