How You Will Make An Impact

The Sr. Market Research & Data Analyst will lead the organization’s development of a market research competency. The incumbent will provide actionable overall market, business, and customer insights.

These insights will drive forecasts, product development, sales, marketing and strategic business initiatives.

The Nuts and BoltsMarket & Industry Research

• Identify and acquire relevant data sources to provide insights and information for the truck equipment industry, equipment distributors, fleets, and end users.
• Execute quantitative and qualitative market research, managed in-house and / or in collaboration with 3rd party vendors.

Projects may include brand management, customer experience, product development, M&A, and ad hoc assignments.

• Lead all aspects of market research, including : defining business requirements, identifying optimal methodology, synthesizing insights, and presenting results.
• Monitor industry news and trends.
• Working with Sales, track and analyze the competitive landscape (pricing, inventory, lead times, and forecasting) with truck equipment manufacturers, distribution and fleet management by assessing products, pricing and distribution networks.
• Analyze internal and external databases / sources to estimate / model market characteristics such as share, size, potential, and segmentation.
• Produce clear and concise analyses including data visualizations, presentations, and reporting.
• Support Marketing on creation of thought-leader white papers and other content marketing based on market insights related to trending industry topics.

Customer Insights

• Support the development of an actionable 360-view of customer, including metrics to support RTG’s strategic goals, marketing priorities, and cross-functional needs.
• Working with Marketing Technology, monitor and analyze online user behavior to identify product, customer needs and trends to support acquisition and retention goals;

work to ensure alignment with Salesforce data capture and reporting.

• Develop and maintain formal customer segments; assist marketing with audience building, targeting, profiling, journey mapping, etc.
• Devise methods and execute research such as surveys, questionnaires, polls, benchmarks and focus groups.

Business Analysis & Reporting

• Work cross-functionally (Finance, Product, etc.) to establish the sources of truth’ for key data inputs, and to create an ecosystem of actionable metrics, KPIs to drive fact-based reporting and enable informed decision-making.
• Establish and manage the buildout of a repository to archive artifacts that contain valuable insights into customers, competitors, and markets.
• Track relevant economic indicators to predict upcoming market changes and provide revenue forecasts to the leadership team to be used in Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations planning.
• Responsible for tracking, reporting, and analyzing the performance of key Sales and Marketing programs; assist with the development / automation of regular reports.

Required CredentialsEducation

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field.

Experience

• Minimum 7+ years of experience in an analytical or business development role.
• Experience in B2B marketing, manufacturing or in a consulting role; experience with utility truck segment preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce, Power BI, JDE and / or similar systems.
• Experience with research methodologies, data techniques, marketing analytics, online survey tools, and syndicated external data sources.
• Manufacturing industry (specifically utility truck) experience is a plus.
