The Direct Sourcing Leader, Upstream Hardware for Cytiva is responsible to serve as the local owner for sourcing for the assigned supply base and business segments.
Responsibilities include the development, communication and execution of strategies to ensure realization of the business objectives within the assigned purchase family through proactive assessment, development and monitoring of the supply base.
The Direct Sourcing Leader for Upstream Hardware will drive material productivity, sustainability, and reduction of single / sole source risk, while improving quality and on-time delivery within the portfolio of assigned suppliers.
This position is part of the Direct Sourcing team located in Marlborough, MA and will be onsite. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
What you will do :
- Lead the development and execution of a savings pipeline for assigned commodities and suppliers, including accountability for meeting deflation and cash targets.
- Monitor supplier performance around key performance indicators (KPI's) and develop improvement strategies to ensure business needs are met.
- Conduct proactive risk assessment of the supply base and development / execution of mitigation strategies to ensure security of supply.
- Lead sourcing contract negotiations and work as part of a cross-functional team.
- Support custom hardware projects, lifecycle management, and implementation of new product development activities (NPD)'s for assigned commodity or suppliers, to ensure on-time delivery to customers and continued support to production and internal stakeholders.
Who you are :
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related technical discipline with 5+ years' experience in commercial sourcing, supply chain with exposure to engineering industry and strong technical knowledge in assigned commodities.
- 7+ years' work experience directly within sourcing or procurement without a degree.
- Demonstrated experience communicating with external suppliers, and ability to manage / develop supplier relationships, preferably working in a biotech / engineering environment.
- Proven negotiations and analytical skills with proficiency in redlining, negotiating and executing commercial / sourcing contracts
- Able to develop, drive and manage a multi-year project and negotiation-based savings funnel, including experience in driving a global tender process.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical / Environment Requirements :
Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of time as needed; overnight travel required.
