About the Role

We’re looking for a licensed Tax Advisor (CPA or Enrolled Agent) who loves helping small businesses understand their finances, plan proactively, and feel supported through every tax season. You’ll collaborate closely with our bookkeeping and advisory teams to deliver accurate, thoughtful tax guidance — not just once a year, but all year long. What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
  • Partner with clients and the FitBooks bookkeeping team to develop proactive tax strategies
  • Lead monthly or quarterly meetings with small business owners to discuss financials, growth, and planning
  • Identify opportunities for clients to save money, stay compliant, and build smarter financial habits
  • Support the internal team with tax insights and training to help everyone 'get 1% better' each day
  • Jump in where needed — we’re a small, growing firm and we all wear a few hats

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation a plus)
  • Active CPA or Enrolled Agent license (preferred)
  • 5+ years preparing and reviewing business and personal tax returns
  • Experience with professional tax preparation software (any major platform)
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and related accounting applications
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • Excellent reporting skills in Excel, and familiarity with tools such as LiveFlow or DataRails (a plus)
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts in a clear and client-friendly manner
