Adelphi is seeking Special Education Teachers to work with students who have a wide range of learning, cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities in schools in diverse locations in Colorado.

The ideal candidates will be experts in helping students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development into responsible adults.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
• Experience in a Special Education classroom setting
• Valid Colorado state certification in Special Education

Responsibilities :

• Assist students in classroom activities.
• Implement and modify students’ instructional plans.
• Collect data and maintain records accurately for tracking and recording student progress on behavior support plan goals.
• Act as a crisis intervention person, using district approved procedures, during times when the student is experiencing severe problems.
• Model for school staff the use of replacement strategies / redirection and utilization of self- monitoring systems when implementing behavior supports for students.
• Prepare and organize materials for instructional purposes, specifically related to positive student behavior and learning.
• Communicate appropriately with individuals including families, students, and Special Education staff.
• Refer concerns expressed by families, students or others to appropriate staff.
• Attend to student medical needs as delegated by the Health Care Action Plan.
• Attend appropriate in services, building meetings, training, and / or school functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
