About The Position
Job Title : Cath Lab Technologist Job Specialty : Cardiovascular Imaging Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Day - 5x8 - 07AM - 03PM - 40 Hours Guaranteed Hours : 40 Experience : One year of imaging experience strongly preferred;
Experience in invasive cardiovascular technology preferred; Cardiac diagnostic / interventional procedural experience preferred License : Surgical Assistant-License, Registered Technologist, Radiology, Vascular-Interventional Radiology, or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology (R.
T. (R)(VI)(ARRT) or R.T. (R)(CV)(ARRT)) Certifications : American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, American Heart Association Basic Life Support Must-Have : High School Diploma / GED Required, Associate Degree (Preferred) Job Description : Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality images and exams on patients while being sensitive to patient needs.- Follow standards of safe radiation practice and maintain personal and patient exposure as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a role model for other technologists.- Assist physicians in specialized cardiovascular procedures, including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker / defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation (IABP), and electrophysiology studies.
- Ensure safety for self, patients, and others during imaging procedures.- Provide information and instructions to patients and / or families regarding procedures.
- Assist patients during exams, observe equipment, and document unusual occurrences.- Facilitate smooth patient flow, schedule exams, and optimize equipment / resource use.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.- Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.
- Participate in on-call coverage outside of standard hours, as per department / facility policy.- Input procedure charges and required data accurately.
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure equipment maintenance documentation.- Engage in professional development activities and share knowledge with staff.
- Participate actively in department / hospital quality and process improvement initiatives.- Maintain compliance with regulations, standards, and contribute to ACR accreditation.
- Exhibit effective time management and adaptability to changing workload and technologies.- Evaluate and document patient status, providing timely interventions / referrals.
- Reflect clinical expertise, competence, and proficiency in job responsibilities.- Ensure high-quality, cost-effective delivery of patient care, using equipment and resources efficiently.
- Adapt to changing patient needs and operational policies with flexibility.
