Description
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of clinical and non clinical tasks to assist the professional medical and nursing staff.
- Provides support to the clinics by maintaining patient flow.
- Documents patient charts promptly using approved VDH format.
- Calls patients to exam rooms; prepares and cleans examinations and keeps pace with the clinicians and nurses.
- Informs senior staff of patients’ condition changes.
- Performs physical measurements on patients in accordance with VDH policies and procedures; performs vision / hearing screenings when appropriate.
- May be required to collect approved specimens under the direct supervision of a licensed Practitioner / Physician.
- Completes cross training when scheduled and demonstrates proficiency in staffing coverage for any assigned work location.
- Orders supplies, maintains levels and stocks exam rooms.
- Operates and maintains lab equipment.
- May be required to perform other duties; may include functions in support of an emergency declaration.
Full-Time / Part-Time Full-Time Position Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Position Requirements
- Must hold an active Certification from a medical assistant or nursing assistant program.
- At least 1 year experience as a medical / nursing assistant.
