The Associate Manager / Manager Contracting will be responsible for contracting within the Commercial segment and the associated contract operations functions for the Merz Therapeutics USA organization.
The role will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of customer agreements, as well as working with cross functional teams to assist with the implementation of contract strategies and maintenance within internal systems.
The role will be responsible for the oversight of rebate payments, fees and chargeback processing functions managed by a third party service provider.
This role will also provide support with contract performance metrics and data analytics that may be required.
Major Duties :
Contract Administration Managed process flow for customer agreements to internal processes and systems. This includes working with internal stakeholders and external customers on questions and issues.
Assist in maintaining internal contracting databases, membership, processes and internal routing of agreements / approval documents
Rebate and Chargeback Processing Manage process flow of third party agreements to ensure accurate and timely processing of managed care rebates, chargebacks and other agreements.
This will include administration of third party systems to ensure accurate product, customer and account information and processing of all rebates and fees to ensure timely payment to customers and consultants.
Review and reconcile all rebate agreement invoices and chargebacks per the terms and conditions of each agreement
Data Analysis Review and analyze commercial contracting data ( chargeback data, managed care rebates, wholesaler data).
Ensure data accuracy and provide relevant reports to key internal stakeholders including adhoc requests ( monthly chargeback reports, quarterly payer rebate reports).
Wholesaler / Third Party Service Provider Contact Serve as point of contact for trade account and third party processor regarding all chargeback, admin fees, and provide customer service support to trade accounts and third party processor.
Notify wholesaler / third party processor and internal stakeholders of all chargeback contracts and price changes to ensure accurate chargeback processing.
Notify third party pricing databases regarding new product launches and WAC price changes. Develop and maintain WAC price analysis tracking for Merz products and competitors.
Process Fee For Service / Drop Ship Fees in accordance with distribution agreements with wholesalers.
Contract Performance Provide assistance to Sr Director to monitor contract performance and impact of contractual agreements on revenue / GTN.
Develop and maintain quarterly reporting to monitor overall discounts and trends
- Pricing Committee Provide assistance to Sr. Director for administrative activities and coordination of meetings and presentations required for review with the Merz Pricing Committee ( agenda items, maintain guideline and business case documentation)
- Departmental Policies and Procedures Draft and revise policy and procedure documents internally and with third party service provider.
Education- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field Required
Professional experience
- Min of 4 years related experience including exposure to accounting, financial concepts and analysis. Previous experience with C ommercial contract administration within pharma with Managed Care, GPO, Specialty Pharmacy and Wholesalers required. Required
- Accrual Forecasting experience Preferred
- Knowledge of Government Pricing calculations, 340B and FSS and associated programs (Tricare, Coverage Gap, TPR) Preferred
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Knowledge of Commercial Contracting segments and administration activities ( Managed Care, GPO, Specialty, Wholesalers.) Required
- Ability to partner across all departments and functions as well as act independently and take initiative Required
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint software programs to prepare charts, tables, forms, reports and presentations. Required
Knowledge of methods
Established ties with existing customer groups who generally contract with manufacturers such as hospital, institutions, GPOs, Managed Care Organizations, federal and state agencies Preferred
