Job Description

  • Design, develop, and validate components and systems related to gearbox, driveline, and transmission products.
  • Collaborate closely with Propulsion System and Vehicle Engineering teams, including controls, thermal management, engine engineering, and e-motor engineering.
  • Ensure product robustness in functional performance, manufacturability, assembly process, efficiency, and driveability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of driveline and transmission systems throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Apply engineering principles and industry standards to meet quality, cost, and timing targets.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 8-12 years of experience in gearbox design, including gear specification, shaft layouts, bearing selection, spline rating, housing design, seal selection, actuation methods, lubrication, and related areas.
  • Understanding of transmission & driveline operation and interactions between gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components.
  • Proficiency in at least one major CAD package (NX, CATIA, CREO, SOLIDWORKS).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for gearbox components.
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills, and experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, capable of managing multiple projects, with a positive attitude.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in multiple CAD packages.
  • Experience with gearbox design and rating software (KISSsoft, MASTA, ROMAX, etc.).
  • Experience with CAE tools for static strength and durability analysis.
  • Experience with controls, efficiency, or thermal management is a plus.
  • Experience with transmission & driveline testing procedures.
