LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Senior Scientist for the Fogarty International Center's Division of Int'l Science Policy, Planning, and Evaluation (DISPPE).
This role involves advising Fogarty leadership on science policy, strategic planning, and evaluation.
Job Responsibilities :
- Develop and assist staff in implementing policies and procedures related to scientific programs.
- Coordinate and document projects from beginning to completion; monitor and report status, funding, and results; provide progress reports.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative assessments and evaluations of scientific information.
- Collaborate with staff on planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of programs in the assigned specialty area of research.
- Create internal and external materials, including reports, summaries, emails, website content, video scripts, newsletters, and social media.
- Plan and conduct administrative analyses to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Review and summarize materials and data; conduct data entry and file maintenance; prepare text, data, and charts.
- Collect and draft materials in response to congressional inquiries.
- Coordinate workshops and report outcomes; attend multidisciplinary research team meetings.
- Prepare briefing materials and summaries of meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- Evaluate current scientific programs and recommend changes as needed.
- Assist in conducting literature searches and provide summaries for new research activities.
- Collaborate with management and prepare reports on new and ongoing programs.
- Identify areas for collaboration within the division and implement projects.
- Conduct policy analyses and suggest improvements to current policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing future strategic plans and perform research to support program research goals.
This position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and excellent communication abilities.
