Overview : As a Key Account Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with national multisite companies, expanding our customer base, and driving sales in the automatic door equipment and services industry.
You will collaborate with various teams to ensure customer satisfaction and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain relationships with national multisite companies for door equipment and service programs.
- Actively seek and acquire new customers within assigned verticals and explore opportunities in alternate industries.
- Collaborate with operational teams to deliver optimal outcomes for both customers and the company.
- Work alongside other sales team members to identify and develop new markets.
- Conduct and manage sales calls, including architectural and design consultations.
- Prepare accurate estimates, follow up on proposals, and handle contract negotiations in a timely manner.
- Promote service and preventative maintenance programs to existing and prospective customers.
- Assist in material ordering for sold projects.
- Submit forecasts and reports promptly and accurately.
- Create and present custom presentations for customer sales and business reviews.
- Collect and analyze data to conduct customer business reviews.
- Conduct market canvassing through in-person visits, emails, video conferences, and phone calls.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of door products, including hardware and electric door hardware.
- Stay informed about industry standards, including AAADM certifications, code changes, and competitive landscape.
- Address and resolve customer complaints efficiently.
- Participate in trade shows and industry-related events.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and building surveys.
- Support District Offices and the National Account Center with regional and national accounts.
- Communicate project details effectively to district operations teams.
- Lead customer escalations and advocate for resolutions, even outside standard business hours when necessary.
- Participate in national and regional sales conferences and updates.
- Understand and operate within assigned vertical markets.
- Entertain key customers within corporate guidelines.
- Join and maintain memberships in professional associations to enhance sales efforts.
- Perform all duties with a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Execute any additional duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications : Academic :
Academic :
High School Diploma (required); AA, BA, or BS degree preferred.
Experience :
- 2-5 years of sales experience in automatic doors, construction, or facilities management.
- Experience selling to large strategic account customers in the retail, healthcare, and construction industry
- Ability to work independently and manage a book of business with minimal supervision.
- Experience collaborating with third-party service providers, facility maintenance, and management companies.
- Agile and adaptable to changing company directives and initiatives.
