Supporting the Vice President, Global Climate Strategy, we’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Climate Strategy Execution to join our climate center of excellence within the BNY Sustainability Office.

This role is located in New York, NY - hybrid.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways :

• Lead workstreams to execute the bank’s global climate strategy across key business lines and functions including through project management, research and analysis, preparation of briefing and presentation materials, and stakeholder engagement.
• Partner with the Modeling, Risk, and other core teams to help advance the bank’s financed emissions models, methodologies, data controls and procedures, and audit requirements.
• Develop tools and guidance to support the business in understanding client emissions profiles and transition plans, conduct impact assessments and sensitivity analysis, and monitor performance against the bank’s emissions reduction targets.
• Develop gold copy content and support workstreams to advance the bank’s climate-related disclosures (, Sustainability Report, CDP Corporate Questionnaire, etc.

and regulatory reporting readiness (, SEC, CSRD, etc.), coordinating with SMEs to ensure alignment across the group and relevant legal entities.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following :

• Understanding of financed emissions accounting standards (PCAF, GHG Protocol), target-setting protocols (UNEP-FI, NZBA), climate scenarios (IEA), and climate disclosure standards, frameworks and regulations (TCFD, IFRS S, ESRS E, SEC climate rule, etc.).
• Strong quantitative background preferred, including ability to work with Excel models and analyze, validate and manage datasets.
• Experience working for a large bank or asset manager, preferably in a role that supports financed emissions measurement and target setting, climate strategy execution, and climate-related disclosure, or experience working for a consultancy firm in a role that supports large financial institutions (FIs) in these efforts.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $, and $, per year at the commencement of employment.

However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
