Position Overview :
We're in search of a talented Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our vibrant school-based team in the vicinity of Watertown, MA.
As an OT in a school setting, you'll play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services to students facing physical, cognitive, or emotional hurdles.
Your mission will be to assist students in developing, reclaiming, or enhancing their capacity to engage in daily activities, fostering greater independence and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct in-depth assessments to evaluate students' physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional abilities and limitations.
Craft individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, taking into account student objectives, capabilities, and preferences.
Execute therapeutic interventions, such as exercises, activities, and adaptive equipment employment, aimed at promoting functional independence and elevating quality of life.
Offer hands-on therapy and guidance to students, focusing on improving motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, and range of motion.
Educate students, families, and caregivers on strategies and methods to optimize independence and integrate therapy objectives into daily routines.
Requirements :
Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
Profound understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, along with comprehension of various physical, cognitive, and emotional conditions and their effects on daily functioning.
Demonstrated experience in evaluating, devising, and implementing occupational therapy interventions.
Empathy, patience, and awareness of the distinct needs and obstacles faced by individuals receiving occupational therapy services.
