Key Responsibilities

  • Electronic System Design : Research, plan, design, develop, and evaluate electronic and electrical systems using advanced tools like OrCad schematic capture and PCB layout software.
  • Technical Analysis : Utilize sophisticated modeling and analysis tools to create product specifications, models, simulations, and technical data packages.

Conduct integration and verification procedures.

  • Consultation and Support : Provide expert engineering consultation to various technical groups. Lead subsystem and system integration, verification activities, and failure analysis.
  • RTCA / DO-160 Testing Leadership :
  • Lead and conduct environmental qualification testing.
  • Perform EMI analysis, including Qual by Similarity for EMI, Lightning, and HIRF.
  • Develop detailed test plans and coordinate approvals with Certification Authorities.
  • Oversee and monitor tests at third-party labs, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
  • Documentation and Compliance : Generate essential documentation to support design and verification according to the Engineering Manual.
  • FPGA and VHDL Implementation : Utilize high-level logic development languages to implement functionality within FPGA-based designs.
  • Problem Solving : Lead troubleshooting efforts and analysis for product performance issues. Propose design improvements for new and existing products.
  • Test Equipment Design : Design and specify test equipment for use in the production process.
  • Software Development : Assist in developing embedded and application software necessary for the operation and testing of developed products.
  • Vendor Management : Evaluate and coordinate with vendors to ensure the delivery of required products and services. Oversee the execution of contracts with outsourced vendors.
  • Project Management : Ensure that technical and project outcomes align with established engineering principles and practices.

Manage projects of moderate size and technical complexity to meet cost, quality, performance, and schedule requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Technical Expertise : Strong background in electronic system design and development, with proficiency in using tools like OrCad or equivalent.
  • Analytical Skills : Advanced skills in modeling, analysis, and simulation of electronic systems.
  • Leadership and Mentorship : Proven ability to lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers and provide expert consultation.
  • Testing and Compliance : Experience with RTCA / DO-160 Environmental Qualification Testing and EMI analysis.
  • Documentation and Compliance : Ability to produce detailed and accurate documentation in compliance with engineering standards.
  • FPGA and VHDL Proficiency : Knowledge in implementing functionality within FPGA-based designs using VHDL or similar languages.
  • Problem Solving : Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to recommend and implement design improvements.
  • Software and Test Equipment Development : Experience in software generation and test equipment design for production processes.
  • Vendor and Project Management : Ability to evaluate vendors, manage outsourced services, and oversee projects of technical complexity.
