- Unit staffing description : Dayshift unit secretary and 2-3 PCTs depending on census. Nightshift has 2-3 PCTs depending on census.

- Documentation system : Meditech
- Patient Experience requirements : Heavy cardiac patient population, CV surgery patients come to PCU after ICU. Perform Q6H head-to-toe assessments, chart each one fully, usual PCU gtts
- The PCU delivers highly individualized care to medical, cardiac, and surgical complex patients requiring intermediate care
Job Requirements
- Cardiac / telemetry experience, PCU and / or critical care experience
- Advanced skills needed : IV insertion, chest tube management, DHT insertion / management, tracheostomy experience, CVC management, EKG, Foley management, early patient mobility
- Procedures performed on unit : Foley placement, IV insertion, wound vac management, DKA management, EKGs, DHT / NG placement, patient ambulation, ADLs
Schedule Information
- Scheduling requirements : 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, Self-scheduling, Schedule finalized 2 weeks in advance, Can accommodate block scheduling for night shift
- Floating policy : Travel RNs float first, rotate floating, the oldest float date will float first

- Unit Specifics : Highly individualized care for complex medical, cardiac, and surgical patients
- Dress Code : Navy scrubs
