Description : The Physical Therapist functions as a service provider to assist students in mastering the goals and objectives identified on student Individual Education Plans (IEP).

Job Summary :

1. Attend parent conferences and meetings as requested to assist in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEP).

2. Assess the gross motor skills of students in order to determine skill deficits.

3. Identify the skill needs of students who have gross motor skill discrepancies that require remediation.

4. Provide remediation or adaptations targeted directly on the skill(s) deficit(s) in the areas of gross motor.

5. Consult with and / or instruct others who may carry out recommended activities to assure that student needs are met.

6. Provide "educational" activities relative to physical growth and development, with emphasis on gross motor in order to provide for the educational needs of the student.

7. Work in a direct instructional mode to provide activities which relate directly to the student's skill deficit.

8. Other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications : 1. BA / BS degree.

2. Valid license by State of Minnesota, Board of Medical Practice, PT Registration.

3. Capable of serving in an itinerant capacity traveling independently between schools.

4. Knowledge of typical physical growth of children and a knowledge of physical disabilities and their affect on normal physical growth and development of children.

5. Knowledge of current medical and educational research relative to the field of physical therapy.

6. Demonstrated teaching skills.

7. Good human relation skills.

8. Good communication skills.
