nLocated in Baltimore’s cultural center near the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, UMMC Midtown Campus is a 180-bed, community teaching hospital with a focus on helping people manage chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases.
Job Description
- Performs assessments and reassessments, as appropriate for the patient’s needs, collecting data from all sources to assist with formulating a nursing diagnosis.
- Develops an individualized Plan of Care, based on the patient’s assessment, with mutual, realistic and measurable goals and documents this thoroughly in the patient’s record.
- Coordinates and directs available resources and personnel in developing and following the Plan of Care.
- Performs treatments, including medication administration, as ordered by the physician and carries out nursing interventions in accordance with the Plan of Care.
- Evaluates the patient’s response to treatments / interventions through reassessment and revises the Plan of Care as necessary.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an approved Nursing School. Positive interpersonal / communication / supervisory skills. Computer skills necessary to document, review information, and send information.
- Currently licensed in the State of Maryland.
- ACLS Provider Completion within 1 year of employment in the following departments : ICU / IMC, PACU, Interventional Radiology, GI Lab, and ED.
- PALS Completion within 1 year of employment in the following departments : PACU and Emergency Department.
- BLS Provider Completion.
