Description

Summary

Assist the supervisor of the department in the daily operations of HDPE / Wood, engage employees in search for continuous improvement ideas and assist in the implementation of the improvement ideas

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promotes the Company's mission and values-based culture through monitoring and adjusting the flow of product through the HDPE and backup for Big Toys processes
  • Safety : Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting the flow of product through the HDPE / Wood department
  • Responsible for assigning and distributing work to employees
  • Monitor progress, correct workflow if needed and report on status of the manufactured parts
  • Be able to look for and identify safety issues, correct if possible and report the findings to supervisor and / or management
  • Monitors quality and performance of employees to ensure that utilization and quality targets are attained
  • Be able and willing to attend supervisor training
  • Back up Supervisor in overseeing personnel, verifying hours through time clock system, updating department board, daily walks, ensuring safe practices are followed, utilization report, and attend Superintendent daily meeting with updates regarding department
  • Assist in training new employees on equipment and processes
  • Responsible for time studies of standards, trouble shooting and overseeing weekly maintenance of equipment, which includes CNC routers
  • Be able to communicate, program changes and requirements to Design Drafter Programmers
  • Be able to learn to perform and over-see all HDPE / Wood functions and program parts while utilizing material
  • Perform weekly preventative maintenance
  • Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

    One-year practical training or education in field related project or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

    Reasoning Ability

    Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge in Excel, Word, LMS and Report Manager.

    Other Skills

    Ability to drive Forklift safely

    Ability to read Blueprint and Tape Measure
