University Marketing & Communications (UMAC) has an exciting opening for an Art Director . This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Art Director provides departmental oversight of the visual design direction and project production of communications developed in UMAC.

This position takes a leadership role in managing the creation and curation of aesthetics for UMAC, ensuring the superior quality, efficient workflow, and timeliness of all delivered projects while unifying multifaceted projects into a cohesive brand identity.

This position oversees staff and outside vendors in executing creative assets.

What You Will Do :

• Holistic Art Direction and Creative Vision (30%) : Conceptualize and execute innovative campaigns and projects, maintain a consistent creative vision across diverse channels, and work on branding and campaign assignments.
• Team Leadership and Management (30%) : Manage a team of five designers, lead projects from ideation to delivery, ensure brand compliance, and oversee project budgets.
• Partner Management and Project Consultation (30%) : Work with stakeholders to identify project scope, analyze visual assets for compliance, and design / produce publications and collateral.
• Other projects as assigned (10%)

What You Bring :

• Experience in art directing publications, events, digital media, and photoshoots.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusivity in design.
• Proficiency in Macintosh platform, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in design, advertising, marketing, communications, or related field and 5+ years’ experience in art direction or related field.
