Salary : $75,000-$85,000
Position : Physical Therapist Full Time, Outpatient Neuro Program
Monday-Friday, 8 : 30a-4 : 30p (No weekends!)
General Summary
Provides physical therapy services to clients impaired by physical and / or cognitive dysfunction, including assessment, treatment planning and implementation of treatment plans.
Diagnostic groups include but not limited to TBI, SCI, MS, CVA, and Parkinson’s. Completes appropriate documentation and adheres to policies, procedures, applicable licensure laws, and current standards of clinical practice.
Principle Responsibilities
- Conducts physical therapy evaluations to determine clients’ physical, functional and cognitive status using standardized tests, and measures to assess client’s activities of daily living, self-care skills, work and leisure.
- Develops and implements physical treatment plans using adaptations, strengthening graded activities and retraining strategies to facilitate the restoration of physical, cognitive, and functional abilities consistent with professional and ethical standards of the MPTA in order to reach clients’ highest potential for independence.
Knowledge of neurological conditions, such as SCI, TBI, MS, Parkinson's, and CVA is required.
- Checks, instructs, assigns and reviews the work of PTA's, ATC's and other support staff as assigned.
- Assess effects of treatment on an ongoing basis and modifying the client’s plan to achieve maximum benefit.
- Collaborates with referring physicians, and other rehabilitation team members to obtain additional client information, suggest revision in treatment program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of client’s health care.
- Provides documentation in a legible manner to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy, continuity of care, reimbursement guidelines, and agency requirements.
- Participates, as requested, in client and family care conferences.
- Educate and instructs client and family / caregiver(s) in treatment procedures to be continued when not in therapy through the use of home programs, home adaptive equipment, or any other therapeutic intervention that has been taught in the clinical setting.
- Strict adherence must be met in regards to HIPAA, Code of Conduct, safety, and infection control / COVID rules / regulations.
Education and Accreditation
- Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Licensure as required by the State of Michigan
