FULL TIME TRUANCY PREVENTION SPECIALIST JusticeWorks YouthCare is seeking a Truancy Prevention Specialist. The Truancy Prevention Specialist will play an important role in helping students learn socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
You will work with parents, teachers, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems. You will also conduct individual and group counseling sessions, as well as weekly family sessions within the home and community to discuss progress and provide additional support.
If you have a passion for working in the Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice, or Social Work fields, this is the job for you! The qualified Truancy Prevention Specialist will have :
- High school diploma and experience working with children, youth, and / or families in a variety of settings or environments.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and access to a vehicle.
- Pass current, applicable clearances.
- Pass pre-employment, post-offer drug screening.
- Ability to work some nights and weekends.

The qualified Truancy Prevention Specialist will :
- Enforce rules for behavior while abiding by policies and procedures to maintain order among students.
- Teach personal development skills such as goal setting, independence, and self-advocacy.
- Provide individual truancy support in the classroom under the supervision of teachers and administration.
- Provide truancy support in the home under the supervision of caretakers.
- Transport clients utilizing personal vehicle as necessary.
