Carilion Clinic and the Department of Surgery, Section of Otolaryngology in Roanoke, Virginia are accepting CV's for a Pediatric Otolaryngologist or General Otolaryngologist with the ability to treat both children and adults to join our growing team of nine Otolaryngologists, five Advanced Clinical Practitioner’s, five Audiologists and one audiology assistant in a clinic-based, academic program with remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical otolaryngology.

Based in the Level One 763-bed Trauma and Academic Center, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, our program provides comprehensive otolaryngology coverage to over one million people in a large, rural, multi-state area.
Otolaryngology services are also provided in several other Carilion hospitals, including Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, Carilion Giles Community Hospital, and Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital.
The section also operates clinics in three satellite locations in the region, with plans to open two additional sites within the next year.
Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad, and our otolaryngologists perform the full breadth of procedures of all levels of complexity.

The position requires an academic appointment at VTCSOM.
Other requirements include :
- MD / DO, Board Certification in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery
- Fellowship Training in Pediatric Otolaryngology, or ability to cover both Peds and Adults
- Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in teaching and / or research

A transformation to an academic clinic model included the opening of VTCSOM (Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine) and VTCRI (Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute) in 2014, with continual growth to both.
In addition, senior otolaryngology residents from the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth rotate in our center along with Carilion Clinic residents in other specialties and medical students from VTCSOM and adjacent centers with the goal to establish our own Otolaryngology Residency.

Facility Description
One of the largest hospitals in the state, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) is a 703-bed hospital with an additional 60-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The facility recently completed a large expansion project, adding a new Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery unit and the Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital complete with a Pediatric Emergency Room.
Now in it's second century of providing premiere healthcare services, CRMH also features a Level I trauma center. In addition to offering high-tech services, the hospital is home to 26 Graduate Medical Education Programs affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, University of Virginia and Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
