Job Summary :
The Digital Literacy and Media Design Instructor will lead a dynamic and engaging course designed to equip middle school students with essential skills in digital literacy, media navigation, and graphic design.
This role involves teaching students how to critically analyze media, navigate social media responsibly, and create a school news network on social media platforms.
The instructor will also guide students in designing graphics for media use, enhancing their technical and creative abilities in graphic design.
The ideal candidate will inspire students to become savvy media consumers and creators, fostering skills that will serve them in both academic and personal contexts.
Key Responsibilities :
- Instruction and Curriculum Development :
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that covers media literacy, responsible social media use, and graphic design principles.
- Teach students how to navigate various forms of media, including news, advertisements, and social media, with a critical eye.
- Instruct students on the ethical use of social media and the impact of digital footprints.
- Guide students in the creation and management of a school news network on social media platforms.
- Provide hands-on training in graphic design software and tools to create media-ready graphics.
- Student Engagement :
- Foster a collaborative and creative classroom environment that encourages student participation and innovation.
- Support students in developing their unique voice and style in media design projects.
- Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving through project-based learning and real-world applications.
- Assessment and Feedback :
- Evaluate student progress through various assessment methods, including projects, presentations, and portfolios.
