Summary Description :
The Fuel Shop Technician may be responsible for inspecting parts, conducting tests, identifying its problems to determine what course of action to take, rebuilding various pumps, and cleaning parts.
The Fuel Shop Technician may be responsible for all or various duties and responsibilities as listed.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
- Tests most fuel pumps in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Keeps all shop tools and test equipment in proper order.
- Services and maintains all testing and cleaning equipment.
- Assists in breaking down and cleaning equipment.
- Assists in rebuilding diesel pumps and injectors.
- Assists other technicians as needed.
- May be responsible for assisting in training new employees.
- Keeps the shop, shop bathrooms and break area clean.
- Assists in other tasks that are needed to ensure quality customer service
- Performs other tasks as required by General Manager, VP of Operations or Upper Management.
Qualifications and Job Requirements :
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Strong mechanical background
- Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to speak and listen effectively
- Must have own tools
- Customer Service experience
Physical Demands :
- The noise level in the work environment may become loud
- Frequently required to move about to access parts
- Required to frequently communicate with customers regarding parts
- May be required to constantly position self to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift in excess of 80 lbs.
- Is occasionally exposed to airborne particles
- The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions
