The Licensed Benefits Representative serves as the first point of contact for employees and plan participants, providing education and support during the enrollment process for core and voluntary benefit plans. This role requires a Life & Health Insurance license, strong customer service skills, and the ability to guide callers through a wide range of benefit options with professionalism and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Answer inbound and make outbound calls to support benefits enrollment, education, and issue resolution
Guide employees through available benefits (medical, vision, life, long-term care, etc.) and assist with informed decision-making
Process enrollments across multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and compliance with company / client policies and HIPAA regulations
Document interactions in company systems and Microsoft Office tools to maintain accurate records
Meet call center performance metrics including call quality, closing ratio (50% team goal), and minimal abandoned calls
Participate in ongoing training and quality reviews to ensure compliance and maintain strong product knowledge
Collaborate with virtual team members and escalate issues to management when appropriate
Qualifications
Active Life & Health Insurance license in at least one U.S. state (company will cover additional non-resident state licenses as required)
Prior experience in benefits enrollment , insurance sales, or high-volume call center environment
Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and CRM platforms)
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
High level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail
Reliable attendance and ability to adapt to changing situations
Preferred Skills
Bilingual (Spanish / English)
Experience presenting life insurance or long-term care products
Medicare sales experience
Additional state licenses
Schedule & Training
Full-time, 40 hours / week; shifts assigned within 9 : 00am - 8 : 00pm EST (latest start time 11 : 30am EST)
2-week training period (remote)
Calls average 22 minutes, with some lasting up to an hour
