We specialize in B2B demand generation, content marketing, and revenue operations (RevOps) services. As we expand, we are seeking a driven and experienced Vice President of Business Development to join our team as our first dedicated sales and business development professional.
Position Overview
The VP of Business Development will be a critical individual contributor, responsible for owning the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
As the first sales hire at Interrupt Media, you will be instrumental in driving the growth of our B2B client base and revenue.
The ideal candidate has a strong track record of success of working remotely in business development within a B2B digital marketing agency, with a deep understanding of our service offerings and the ability to operate independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Ownership : Lead and manage the entire sales process, including prospecting, lead generation, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
- Client Acquisition : Identify and pursue new B2B business opportunities with startups, mid-market, and enterprise clients.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers.
- Revenue Targets : Set and achieve ambitious monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Continuously monitor and report on sales performance metrics.
- Market Insights : Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and client needs to inform sales strategies and service offerings.
- Proposal Development : Develop compelling proposals and presentations that clearly communicate the value of our services.
- Collaboration : Work closely with the demand generation, content marketing, and RevOps teams to align business development efforts with overall company goals.
- Client Relationship Management : Ensure seamless transition from sales to account management, maintaining strong client relationships to foster long-term partnerships.
- Negotiation : Lead contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms that align with company objectives.
Qualifications
- Experience : 7+ years of B2B business development experience, with a strong track record in a digital marketing agency environment.
- Proven Success : Demonstrated success in owning the entire sales cycle and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Industry Knowledge : Deep understanding of demand generation, content marketing, and RevOps services.
- Self-Starter : Ability to work independently as the sole sales and business development professional within the company.
- Client-Centric : Strong relationship-building skills with a client-first mindset.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
- Negotiation Skills : Proven ability to negotiate favorable contracts and close deals.
- Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Education : Bachelors degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
