Facilities Maintenance Technician
Our client is looking for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Tech to support their site in Southfield, MI.
This contract position (possibility of extension or direct hire for the right candidate) offers a starting pay rate of $20-$24 / hour (based on experience).

This position is a general maintenance role. Need a handyman type person. Dry wall repair, painting, prepping, landscaping, basic carpentry, basic porter duties, general office space remodel, floor repair and replacement (tile, vinyl, carpet, etc).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Responsibilities :
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Perform maintenance on electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets, and cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels.
- Assist in the setup and repair of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems as needed.
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Inspect alarm systems (fire protection) and schedule repairs as necessary.
- Perform manual repairs such as fixing locks and replacing windows.
- Undertake pest control activities, such as spraying insecticide.
- Conduct general upkeep procedures, including landscaping and other tasks as assigned (e.g., painting, carpentry).
- Assist in budget preparation and ensure adherence to budget guidelines.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 7 AM - 3 PM
Requirements :
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician.
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Gardening & Groundskeeping a plus
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired.
- Experience : 0-3 years.
Additional Skills :
- Ability to perform drywall, mudding, painting, basic landscaping, basic carpentry, and basic plumbing tasks.
- Willingness to undertake porter-like activities and other tasks as requested by customers within the building.
