Key Responsibilities
System Design & Production
- Lead the design and documentation of electrical and control systems following industry standards (NEC, UL, etc.).
- Specify, source, and evaluate electrical and controls hardware; maintain BOMs and electrical drawings.
- Calibrate, test, and troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with vendors and inspection agencies to meet regulatory and technical requirements.
- Supervise design technicians, PLC programmers, and panel assembly staff to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Develop control philosophies and O&M documentation for delivered systems.
Technical Support & Supervision
Provide daily technical support to customers, distributors, OEMs, and internal departments.Supervise PLC programmers, electricians, assemblers, and panel builders.Offer technical leadership for troubleshooting, program development, and control system upgrades.Quality Assurance
Develop test procedures and documentation for quality assurance of control systems and instrumentation.Ensure products meet design specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.Production Assistance
Support the fabrication and testing of control subsystems in coordination with the production team.Resolve field and shop-floor issues related to electrical installations and control systems.Participate in wiring, debugging, and testing of systems as needed.Special Projects
Support custom engineering projects, new product development, and modifications to existing products.Act as project lead or technical advisor under direction of Engineering Manager.Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct and manage technical personnel including technicians, programmers, and assemblers.Ensure team compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in a technical field & 5+ years of relevant experience, orAssociate degree & 10 years of relevant experience, orSecondary education & 15 years of relevant experienceMinimum of 3 years supervising technical staffTechnical Proficiency
Proficient in reading and creating electrical diagrams and control schematicsStrong troubleshooting and system calibration skillsFamiliar with PLCs, sensors, actuated valves, and industrial controlsExperience with NEC, UL508A, and OSHA standardsOther Requirements
