Job specification

• Will be responsible for assessing and monitoring the condition of assigned patients, administering medications and treatments, and providing education to patients and their families about their care.
• The RN will work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, as well as communicate any changes in patient's conditions.
• Responsible for constantly monitoring patients' vital signs and looking for any signs of adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Administering and monitoring medical equipment such as IV pumps, feeding tubes, and oxygen therapy devices, ensuring that they are functioning correctly and safely.

Candidate requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program that leads to an Applied Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Obtain a valid and current RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) or a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC). Will be allowed to start with another state license, but must obtain a Texas license within four weeks of being hired.
• Hold a current BLS certification through an approved provider such as the American Heart Association.
• Obtain specialty certification in a specific area, such as critical care or oncology, as required by the employer.
• Complete a residency or orientation program before assuming full responsibility for patient care.
