We’re looking for a Marketing Project Manager to lead project management for the marketing team, reporting to the Head of Marketing.

This role will be a key leader within our marketing team, with the opportunity of working within even larger teams and key projects across the organization.

This leader will be critical in establishing formal project management within the marketing team, as we look to transform our omnichannel journey for our customers and elevate our ongoing support to internal stakeholders.

Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago, IL. This role operates on a hybrid work model; employees spend two days working in the office and three days working remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Provides expert project management and leadership within and to a group of 25+ marketing team members, made up of a variety of disciplines including market and customer intelligence, marketing management, brand / creative, growth marketing and catalog development.
  • Establishes and maintains project management process, calendars, and other artifacts.
  • Creates and leads weekly project management updates to senior marketing leadership.
  • Develops detailed project plans including requirements, scope, deliverables, budget, and schedules for marketing projects.
  • Guides and advises on the prioritization of the marketing team’s projects.
  • Monitors and ensures marketing projects are completed within budget, schedules and to our quality standards.
  • Ensures the timely delivery and harmony of marketing work, working across the organization at large when necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains projects within project management tool(s).
  • Develops and maintains both new and existing programs / processes that support a strong marketing community across marketing disciplines, including : information sharing, ongoing communications, recognition, events, etc.
  • Establishes KPI-driven goals with medium and large sized marketing projects, articulating the objectives of an assigned program / project as they apply to the attainment of organizational objectives.
  • Ensures timely approvals of purchase requisitions and management of invoices related to marketing work.
  • Coordinates and ensures work from outside vendors and / or team members are on time and within budget.
  • Prioritizes tasks among multiple projects happening concurrently, while maintaining balance and mitigating risk across the department, as well as within larger cross-functional projects.
  • Identifies risks and / or mitigate challenges to drive projects forward.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) required, preferably in Marketing, Project Management or a related area, with at least 5 years of proven project management experience, ideally in B2B, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in the distribution and / or manufacturing industries is a plus! Experience in project management tools similar to Monday.

com, Basecamp, Asana, Trello. Experience in working with Jira and Confluence is also a plus!

  • Understanding and working knowledge of the marketing ecosystem at large, including the connectivity between audience research and segmentation, product, websites / apps, marketing channels, content and analytics.
  • Ability to create a productive working space when planning and discussing work.
  • Ability to guide and support the problem solving within teams to keep the agenda moving forward and on track.
  • Understanding of agile or similar project management, with a drive for continual process improvement.
  • Ability to project manage a team that is creative, technical and analytical.
  • Proficient in some of the marketing mix elements; able to provide advice and counsel to other professionals within the department when identifying and resolving issues or problems.
  • Ability to think out-of-the box and drive creative project management solutions.
  • Understands that seeking the input of the team is critical while guiding everyone to be better at what they do and how they perform - we are better, together.
  • Ability to thrive in the trenches and in front of leadership.
  • The ability to influence, collaborate and be adaptable within cross-functional teams and internal clients.
  • Understanding of traditional and eCommerce websites including UX, design and content best practices.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Experience with projects that are online (website and apps, digital channels, analytics and related tools) and offline (e.

g. : events, print collateral, print catalogs).

  • Ability to articulate project management approach and updates to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management, multitasking and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to keep teams moving forward and focused on the project goals at hand.
  • Ability to identify and understand the dependencies within marketing.
  • Experience in or working with outside agencies and vendors as part of the overall marketing project.
  • Participate on special assignments which relate to the successful planning and execution of marketing processes; contributes to resolving encountered issues or problems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills while being process-oriented.
  • Organized and focused on optimal team productivity and efficiencies.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in MS Office programs.
