The DoubleTree By Hilton San Jose is looking for their next Assistant Chief Engineer to join their amazing team!

This property boasts 505 guest rooms and 45,000+ sq. ft. of banquet / meeting space and is located with minutes of the International Airport, and within 5

miles of downtown and all its attractions.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Property Operations and supervise a team of 5-6 team members to efficiently maintain the functionality and safety of the hotel, including the physical building, mechanical equipment, electrical system / s, heating and cooling systems and life safety systems in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess :

• Must have strong HVAC, electrical, painting, plumbing and carpentry skills.
• At least two (2) years of experience within hotel operations, building engineering, or maintenance.
• Previous Supervisory / Management experience preferred
• The ability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Proven leadership skills with excellent attention to detail
• Local 39 experience is also highly desirable.

Hourly Range : $68.76-$68.76

What will I be doing?

• Assists and acts in the absence of the Director of Property Operations to oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including the physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical system / s, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Directs general construction and the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical, mechanical and architectural systems throughout the facility to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
• Assigns, verifies and documents the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system.
• Communicates with city / county / state officials to ensure the proper maintenance of permits and licenses, to coordinate required inspections and to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards to protect the well-being of all guests and team members.
• Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations
• Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.
