Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : ICU / Acute Care - Intensive Care Unit Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour Days Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years, ICU experience strongly preferred License : Required Certifications : - ACLS- BLS- PALS (PALS can be obtained on-site) Must-Have : Proficiency in managing a range of ICU patient conditions, including titrating critical drips Job Description : - Provide high-quality care for patients in a 7-bed ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 2 for optimal patient care.
- Care for a diverse patient population, including those with COPD, AFIB, post-op cases, diabetic issues, COVID-19, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal tendencies, and GI bleeds.
- Manage common drips such as Cardizem, Levophed, and Insulin, with minimal sedation / ventilated patients.- Work 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 : 30 PM or 7 PM to 7 : 30 AM, with schedules posted 6 weeks in advance and potential for block scheduling.
- Meet weekend shift requirements, working every third weekend for night shifts or every other weekend for day shifts.- Collaborate with support staff, including nurse aides, hospitalists, nurse practitioners, and the ER or Anesthesia team for emergent situations.
- Handle total patient care in the ICU, with floating to Med-Surg / Acute Care being infrequent.- Follow the dress code of pewter-colored scrub tops or jackets, black pants, shoes, and socks, with colored tops allowed under pewter outer layers.
