Job Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled Pyrometry Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will travel to customer sites to perform Instrument Calibration, Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS), and System Accuracy Tests (SAT).
The role requires a solid understanding of the AMS2750 specification and the ability to work and communicate effectively with customers in an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Understand and implement AMS2750 and other prime aerospace pyrometry specifications.
- Work and communicate professionally with customers in an industrial setting.
- Perform Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS) per AMS2750 and other aerospace pyrometry specifications.
- Instrument Calibration : Perform temperature and voltage instrument calibration per AMS2750 and other aerospace pyrometry specifications.
- System Accuracy Tests : Conduct SAT per AMS2750 and other aerospace pyrometry specifications.
- Thermocouple Preparation : Prepare thermocouples and wire survey racks for TUS and SAT.
- Process Sensors Installation : Prepare and install process sensors in ovens and furnaces.
- Correction Factors : Calculate and understand correction factors for instrumentation and thermocouples.
- Furnace Control Systems : Demonstrate understanding of furnace controllers and control systems.
- Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot furnaces that are failing or out of compliance with AMS2750.
- Pressure and Vacuum Testing : Perform pressure and vacuum instrument testing.
- Reporting : Produce error-free calibration and TUS reports in a timely manner.
- Certificates : Responsible for creating calibration certificates for equipment you have calibrated.
All calibration is performed following NIST traceable and ISO / IEC 17025, ANSI / NCSL Z540.3-2006, and ANSI / NCSL Z540-1-1994 standards.
Requirements :
- Calibration training required.
- Military PMEL / TMDE / DOD training strongly preferred.
- Experience with ISO 17025 strongly preferred.
- Experience with precision measurement equipment.
- Reliable means of transportation and current vehicle insurance.
- Current California Driver License.
- High level of customer service is essential.
- Must have computer knowledge to perform job functions.
Additional Information :
- Vehicle Use : This position requires the employee to use their own vehicle for travel.
- Mileage Reimbursement : Provided for travel (average 20-30 miles from facility, maximum 70-80 miles).
- Phone Usage Reimbursement : $50 / month.
- Performance Bonuses : $100 / month for perfect certification reports and $1,000 / year for 12 months of perfect certification reports.
Homebase : Garden Grove and servicing Southern California
Compensation : $23 - $30 per hour (DOE)
Job Type : Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
