Summary :

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing resources, and controlling project tasks required for effective management of electronic security installation projects.

The Project Manager is a highly organized person responsible for working with other Project Managers, Project Coordinator, Engineering, Operations Manager and Installation Technicians to keep the project schedules, milestones, and labor needs in sync to facilitate bringing jobs predictably in within time and budget thresholds.

Project Manager Responsibilities :

  • Schedule and attend project kick-off meetings upon receipt of project assignment
  • Proactively work with Project Coordinator and subcontractors in scheduling and assignment of resources to activities and notify Warehouse of project staging requirements
  • Maintain project job file, including but not limited to change orders and project updates
  • Provide daily updates to the resources planning system based on project status and progress
  • Attend project meetings as required
  • Maintain the project schedules
  • Ensure the entire EPG process flow is acted upon, including documentation, client communication, and successfully completing work tickets.
  • Partner with the business development team to enhance the client experience and deliver on commitments.
  • Maintain thorough notes and updates on client project work.
  • Communicate with customers regarding scheduled work, providing updates on repairs and / or preventative maintenance visits
  • Site visits to provide oversight of the installation work performed at customer site to ensure the highest quality standards and safety
  • Responsible for setting customer expectations and communication to all stakeholders
  • Responsible for customer follow-up and communication after site visits
  • Provide support to all levels of technical staff (this position is the first point of contact for field service staff)
  • Mentor Project Coordinator in Project Management best practices
  • Implement Project Management methodologies
  • Foster and support a team environment
  • All other duties, as assigned by company management

Project Manager Minimum Qualifications :

  • 2-year degree with 5 years relevant experience with low voltage systems or 4-year degree and 3 years experience with low voltage systems
  • Ability to follow the GSSC corporate values
  • Strong conflict management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and effectively interpret general business documentation
  • Superior customer service skills to communicate with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job duties to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn GSSC software
  • Ability to effectively handle stressful situations and changing business demands that will change the schedule daily
  • Ability to influence others
  • PMP certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
  • Working knowledge of low voltage systems such as intrusion, fire alarm, access control, nurse call, and video systems
  • Ability to conduct internal and external project meetings

Up to 10% of the time but will have advance notice
