SUMMARY OF POSITION

Dispenses medications, maintains drug inventory and patient and pharmacy records in a manner compliant with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.

Ensures prescriptions are dispensed in compliance with 340B guidelines.

  • Read and interpret provider's medication orders
  • Fill, process and dispense medication orders in an accurate manner
  • Counsel patients with regards to medication use, side effects, interactions, and other pertinent information
  • Ensure pharmacy compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Ensure accuracy of adjudication of prescription claims
  • Adhere to safety practices to ensure quality care for patients
  • Collaborate with in-house providers regarding therapy equivalents, cost-savings measures and treatment plans
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory through inventory control practices
  • Provide customer service in answering phone calls and assisting patients in person in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Administer therapeutic injections
  • Triage and prioritize requests
  • Compounds non-sterile preparations
  • Reinforces instructions provided by the Pharmacist-in-Charge and Director of Pharmacy
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. Carries out the Vibrant Health mission :

Maintains professional standards and certification in pharmaceutical practice including Kansas licensure and up-to-date continuing education.

Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed to maintain and improve effective functioning of the department and to advance the mission of the organization.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required
  • Kansas Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist Registration
  • Certified Immunizer
  • 2 years of community pharmacy practice experience

Individual must :

  • Maintain continuing education per Kansas Board of Pharmacy requirements
  • Possess strong prioritization skills and an ability to make decisions and delegate independently and effectively
  • Be able to operate equipment such as computers, scan guns, tablet counters, and cash registers
  • Maintain familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations
  • Be friendly, cheerful and helpful to patients and others and able to meet patients' needs while following organizational policies and procedures
  • Possess ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
  • Be able to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities
  • Display a positive attitude and is a positive agent for change
  • Work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers
  • Be able to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
  • Not be on the Office of Inspector General Exclusion List

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with 340B compliance
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records preferred
  • Experience in a FQHC or clinic setting
  • Bilingual fluency in written and oral English / Spanish

  • Employment is contingent upon successful clearance from Criminal, Kansas and Missouri Child / Elder Abuse and Neglect and Sex Offender background investigations, TB testing, and pre-employment drug testing.
