Swim Lesson Instructor

Our Swim Instructors direct and leads participant(s) through explanation, demonstration, and guided practice.

This position is at our Lincoln Park location.

Responsibilities :

• Take attendance when needed.
• Schedule lessons three-five days in advance.
• Follow Emergency Action Plan when needed.
• Fill out required records and reports on schedule.
• Attend staff meetings alongside training workshops.
• Communicate regularly with participants and their parents.
• Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Aquatics Director.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director.
• Adapt teaching approaches to all ages, skills, and abilities of participants.
• Use skill demonstrations and positive reinforcement while teaching new skills.
• Enforce all aquatics facility policies, rules, and regulations; educate patrons about them.
• Monitor teaching, practice, and equipment areas to ensure the health and safety of participants.
• Utilize “Instructor Training Guide” as well as Training Workshops to begin and enhance the swimming curriculum to our members.

Position Requirements :

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. (preferred) American Red Cross CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer.   EEO STATEMENT :
